FACILITIES AVAILABLE FOR GROUP A  GROUP B OFFICERS WHO ARE ON DEPUTATION TO ARMY POSTAL SERVICE DoP

1. Equivalent Rank Structure in Army Postal Service at the time of induction

(a)IPoS Group ‘A’ Officers – HAGMajor General
(b)IPoS Group ‘A’ Officers – SAGBrigadier
(c)IPoS Group ‘A’ Officers – JAG(NFSG)Colonel
(d)IPoS Group ‘A’ Officers – JAGLieutenant Colonel
(e)IPoS Group ‘A’ Officers – STSMajor

2. IPoS Group ‘A’ gazette service will be equated with full pay commissioned service for the purpose of fixation of Army seniority and will be eligible for further promotion.

3. PS Group‘B’ gazetted service will also be equated similarly after deducting two years from it. The Officers in the APS are promoted on time scale as under:-

4. Age limit and medical category

The Officers upto 45 years of age and in the medical category of SHAPE-1 are eligible to join APS.

5. Pay and Allowances

(a) Option to draw Army Rate of Pay with the following Pay band and Military Service Pay (MSP) of Rs 15500/- as per 7th CPC.

(i)Major General–Pay level 14 as per pay matrix
(ii)Brigadier–Pay level 13A as per pay matrix
(iii)Colonel–Pay level 13 as per pay matrix
(iv)Lieutenant Colonel–Pay level 12A as per pay matrix
(v)Major–Pay level 11 as per pay matrix
(vi)Captain–Pay level 10B as per pay matrix
(vii)Lieutenant–
OR
Pay level 10 as per pay matrix

Civil rate of pay plus 12.5% Deputation Allowance on Basic Pay plus Grade Pay for the officers of the grade of JAG & above. Below JAG grade officers will get 20% Deputation Allowance plus Civil Pay.

(b) The Officer can exercise option at the time of commissioning and a further option on each occasion of promotion in Army/Civil rank to draw Military Pay and Allowances or Civil Pay plus Deputation Allowance.

(c) Special Compensatory Allowances while serving in Field/Modified Field and Concessional Areas as admissible to Regular Army personnel are as under:-

(d) Ration Money Allowance while serving in peace station. Present rate of Ration Money Allowance is Rs 97.85 per day. Officers living single will be provided with free boarding.

(e) Dress allowance of Rs 20,000/- per year.

(f) HRA as applicable when not provided with Govt married accommodation.

6. Leave

(a) 60 days Annual Leave per year.

(b) 20 days Casual Leave per year

(c) Sick leave on recommendation of medical authorities over and above the leave mentioned above.

(d) Civil Leave account will be frozen during the period of deputation in APS. However, leave accumulated at APS plus balance civil EL will be encashed subject to maximum of 300 days at the time of retirement.

(e) 10 days leave encashment alongwith LTC per year is also available in APS over and above 300 days leave accumulation. Maximum leave encashment is 60days.

7. Travel Concessions

(a) Free conveyance (LTC) every alternate year for self & dependent family members to visit home town from duty station and to visit anywhere in India every alternate year in Economy class through Air India.

(b) One additional free conveyance (LTC) in a year for self to visit hometown/Selected Place of Residence (SPR), where family staying, from field duty station if not stayed with family.

(c) Six Nos of 40% concession voucher (Form‘D’) to visit anywhere in India through Indian Railways network.

(d) Free conveyance to the dependent family members to join head of family (self) at duty station first time & also on subsequent postings.

8. Accommodation

(a) Fully Furnished accommodation for single officers at duty station with nominal fee.

(b) When no married accommodation is available, the Officers can keep their family at Selected Place of Residence (SPR)/hometown and claim HRA as applicable. Families can be shifted to separated family accn (SFAccn) which are available in peace stations.

(c) Free conveyance of personal effects while on postings with maximum limits as per 7th CPC:-

(i) Level 10 & above – 6000 Kgs

9. Army Group Insurance cover (In addition to CGEGIS)

(a) Rs 75 lakhs insurance coverage for Officers from Army Group Insurance on payment of monthly premium of Rs 5190/-

(b) Advances for purchase of Computer and Two wheeler from AGI Fund.

(c) Maximum 90% balance at credit can be drawn from AGI Fund for higher education/marriage of children.

(d) Amount accumulated in AGI Savings Fund will be refunded to the Officers on their repatriation to Dept of Posts.

10. Canteen (CSD)

(a) All types of Fast moving consumer Goods (FMCG) on concessional rates.

(b) Two/Four wheelers on concessional rates.

(c) Electronic items on concessional rates.

(d) Liquor on concessional rates as per entitlement.

(e) After repatriation, Canteen facility with liquor is available if the Officer served in APS for 5 years and more.

11. Medical

Free medical facilities for self & dependent family members in the renowned Army, Air Force and Navy Hospitals available throughout India.

12. Education & Scholarships

(a) Admission of children in Army Public school, KV and other pvt school in the Military station.

(b) Admission of children in the following Professional Colleges for officers who have completed 10 years of service in Army:-

(c) Children will get reservation for getting admission in professional colleges under State Govt.

(d) Scholarships are available for children of Officers from APS Corps Regimental Fund and from Army (ESSA).

13. Other facilities / concessions

(a) Scholarships are available for children of Officers from APS Corps Regimental Fund and from Army (ESSA).

(b) Grant to wives for enhancement of their academic qualification.

(c) Grant to Officers for enhancement of their academic qualification while serving in APS.

(d) Talented Officers can participate in Army sports teams at various levels.

(e) Eligible for applying to dwelling units from Army Welfare Housing Organisation (AWHO) after completing 10 years & more service in APS.

(f) Officers will get choice posting in Dept of Posts on repatriation.

(g) Officers posted in APS Dte, CBPOs, Command and Corps HQ level only.
